A Designer’s Code of Ethics
Mike Monteiro

Having heard a couple of your podcast sessions with UX Podcast (a big shout out to James and Per), this topic is familiar and much appreciated. The issue with ethical design that gets many in my business frustrated with my process is not that they don’t appreciate it, but that the drivers of business generally (from their perspective) aren’t conducive or immediately rewarding of ethical design timelines. Not to say that all ethical designs have to take more time, but thoughtful, empathetic design is not typically improved by speed as the primary driver. I would love more of your thoughts on this matter and how to help affect the meta-drivers of capitalism through ethical design and other means.
