DOG

Guimo is a name we got from a street vendor selling grilled potato in Japan. We thought that it means grilled potato, but it’s not. So…Guimo is the unique name that has no meaning.
Anyway, his way of life is as unique as his name. His time with us always give us a smile, at least, everyday from sucking his favorite ball out of the public water drainage, nesting a baby bird in his mouth ( I said nesting because all bird(s!) surprisingly survive), shopping for his own toys, fighting to get shotgun in the car, owning other people’s fish pond as his own pool(s!), forcing us to pad this head by literally putting his head under our palm and many more legends he made.
Suddenly, one night I was back home. I can feel that he seems strange. His own doctor, who always come to vaccinate him and he always shout out to tell his fellows to hide from needles!, couldn’t tell why he is not energetic as he always be. We switched to 2 more hospitals to cure him. He corporated well with doctors and nurses and even an owner of a dog shop. He ate 10 pills a meal by himself. ( well, he ate directly from my nanny’s hand like he wants to get back and be healthy) Anyway, two months after, he passed away with malignant histiocytosis. On his last evening, he walked out with me and followed me around as he always does when he is strong. Oh don’t forget..He managed to jump into his own biggest pool and stayed there for some fish spa. Then he was back and rested at the place he always sleep……….and on 13 July 2013’s early morning he slept for good in his comfortable pose.
This picture was taken when we were on the way to let him experience the sea and long beach for his first and last time. He once laid down his head on my lap and always he lays in my heart and memory.
I miss your love that you share with me every morning and when I am back home.
Thank you for reading through this and I just want to express out of how a dog with meaningless name can touch someone’s heart forever.
I know you are now swimming somewhere in a bigger pond. Have fun bro!
