Artifact 3: Where Do “Good” Ideas Come From?, May 8th

This short video described in detail how “good” ideas come about. Ultimately, I understood that good ideas come from a collision of “slow hunches.” These slow hunches often take years to develop and mature, but once they run into one another, out comes a good idea. The space in which a good idea forms needs to allow ideas to form and mingle among each other to ultimately create a big break through. This activity brought attention to the fact that our classroom has been a space to form and collaborate ideas. When we peer review, we are sharing our own ideas with the person whose paper we are editing in order to help them develop their ideas more or come up with new ones. The ideas that come from others are valuable, and I have applied this many times throughout the quarter even if I knew it or not. This activity has overall helped me to become a more wary writer and has shown me the great worth and benefits in sharing ideas and collaboration.
