Hi Kerri, thanks for your well-formulated response, and I take your points and agree that stereotypes exist, I know that based on my own experience being a minority.
That said, I do want to respond and argue against some of the deeper points that underline “if one’s ideology is not in line with company’s culture than, the employer has every right to remove him” this thinking. I urge you to watch this ‘moral psychology’ talk on this very topic by Jon Haidt which, in my estimation, argues very well on companies (or universities) on schism between two sacred values which are incompatible. He argues that businesses (or Universities) to be very clear and explicit about their sacred values — it could be Truth or it could be Social Justice, or maybe it’s Jesus Christ, it can be whatever the businesses wants, and should build whatever culture they want to, but it must be clearly stated so that employees can make an informed choice.
