Delta Exchange iOS App — Home page redesign.

Delta Exchange is a cryptocurrency derivatives exchange application. The application facilitates a good experience in Futures and Options trading.

I made a try to enhance their user experience a bit more.
Here I am sharing the process I went through for the redesign.

The app has quite a lot of functionalities as it solves a complex problem of derivatives exchange. No wonder it has a pretty lot of options on the homepage UI.

These are the areas which needed enhancements for a good user experience.

I. UI Enhancements

1. Visual content not extended to fill the screen
   As per Apple’s Human Interface Guideline, the background has to be extended to the edge of the display. Not doing so, gives a broken look.
2. Recurrent actions removal
   The wallet icon and the arrow sign near Account Equity direct to the same page, and the wallet icon doesn’t seem to be used anywhere inside the app too. So removing the redundant action in the icon would create a breathing room in the top band.
3. Consistent page transitions
   The ‘Manage’ option near Position / Options and ‘Analyse’ option near UPNL can also be conveyed with the ‘>’ icon as in ‘Account Equity’ to maintain consistency.
4. Spacing issue
   Below this comes the quick actions section, here the spacing between icons seems to be uneven.

II. Functionality Enhancement

1. Customise quick actions displayed on the home page
   The frequently used actions vary from user to user and a customisation for the same would create a good user experience. This could also reduce the number of page transitions and clicks the user makes.
2. Search option on the useful resources page
   Since there are more resources listed on the page, a search option will also make the experience quite user-friendly.
