Is no one worried about the privacy implications of this sort of thing? I get that the linked articles are about “fraud,” but they mostly seem concerned with the reps from BillFixers misrepresenting themselves to various companies. But what about giving your account info (and all the ancillary info that proves that you are who you say you are, like your mother’s maiden name, etc) to a third party? What will they do with it? Is it really worth handing over that kind of info (which is basically the key to all your other info everywhere else) to save time?
