Master Craft Persons (MCPs) are playing a leading role in the delivery of quality training to MAFITA apprentices. 450 out of the 630 MCPs engaged by MAFITA for skills delivery, although considered authorities in their respective trade areas, lacked formal education in teaching.

MAFITA is using the local language, visual presentations and role plays, to facilitate learning of both theory and practice to the MCPs who will go on to teach beneficiaries.

By the end of the training, the MCPs were certified as Level 3 Assessors and therefore cleared to carry out formative assessment for apprentices according to the requirements of regulatory bodies in Nigeria.

They are now also serving as Internal Quality Assurers of training. This development will enhance the teaching capacity of MCPs while also improving their expertise as certified assessors.
