Ioannis Papapetrou: Always bouncing back

Olympiacos Piraeus forward Ioannis Papapetrou is a vital piece for the Reds off the bench and has been for the past three and a half years, since he signed with the club as a promising 19-year old. His aggressiveness, size, mobility and shooting touch have made him a tough player for opponents to size up and a guy that his teammates love. This season, Papapetrou pulls back the curtain to share his experiences with Olympiacos via his new blog.

Last week, we proved we can beat any team. We knew we had to bounce back after losing at home against Maccabi. We knew it would be great road win, because Darussafaka has a great team. I think we prepared the game well, we executed our plan, and got a very good road win. We joke all the time on the team. After we lose games, we say: “This is what we always do; we lose, we bounce back and win.” As a team, as a player and as Olympiacos, you want to win every game. But sometimes that is impossible and you have to bounce back after a loss. That is most important.
