In general, the ratio of men to women who snore is 2 to 1. Roughly 20 to 30 percent of women and 40 to 50 percent of men snore regularly.
Before I tell you about this remarkable oil blend I discovered, let’s talk about what causes snoring in the first place.
According to Dr. Mercola (Joseph Michael Mercola is an alternative medicine proponent and osteopathic physician,), “Snoring occurs when your throat muscles relax during sleep, your tongue falls backwards toward your throat and the walls of your throat vibrate, leading to the familiar sound of a snore.” In other words, when you sleep your mouth becomes its own natural instrument in the same way it does when rolling your R’s. As it involves your tongue falling back, snoring will occur most often when sleeping on your back. Snoring has many different causes. It could very well be a combination of them, or a single cause. Here are some of the most common causes.
- Alcohol consumption
- Clogged nasal passages
- Dehydration before bed
- Sleep apnoea
While it may just be your throat making a sound, snoring can be indicative of something more serious. Snorers and the people sharing their bed often experience fatigue during the day. A lack of restful sleep can impact your body significantly. It can lead to weight gain, depression, brain damage, accelerated aging and so much more. This is why it’s important to do something about snoring before it leads to something even worse!
