Do Cousins Really Love Each Other?
Joey Rambles

Hi, Joey

Thanks for this post, which stirred memories.

My cousin, Michael, and I loved each other so much that as preteens we wanted to get married.

No matter that, as adults, our lives rocketed in opposite directions (his to a fancy home in a D.C. neighborhood, mine to a cabin I built in the Maine woods), we remained connected by heart until Michael’s sudden death at age 50.

Now, 2 1/2 decades following that death, I remember the connection we shared, for years, each summer in Atlantic City — oh, the peals of laughter and how they saved me.
