When I was a preteen, my wise and compassionate father invited me into his writing den often to read to me from Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus and the like, Chopin (and the like) fertilizing the “wisdom seeds.”

Yes, my ears and mind still connected to the Tom Jones album blasting in the other room, but I think those “seeds” — at least some of them — got planted.
