New adventures: how I’m going to be a remote worker

I have been working as a frontend developer for three years and a half. Mine is the usual story of the teenager who teaches herself how to code, loves it, and makes it her mission in life. Usual stuff.
I’ve started working as a professional developer three years and a half ago, in London, and then I moved back to my home country, Italy, just about a year ago.
I’ve always been interested in learning new things and discovering about new worlds and opportunities. I like knowing stuff and trying to expand my universe.
About a year ago, I’ve started learning WordPress. A bit late, you say? Yes, I’m also one of those who gets to the party late, but inevitably gets super excited and wants to try everything. I fell in love with WordPress, the community behind it and the endless possibilities that could give you.
I also started learning a bit more about remote working, soon realising that it is the ideal way to be able to work with really talented people from around the world. Just because you’re physically stuck in a location, it doesn’t mean you can’t have the opportunity to learn, right? We all have access to this thing called “the Internet”, we might as well take fully advantage of what it can give us.
That’s why I started to look into remote companies that looked cool and interesting.
It took me a year to decide and try, to take the leap of faith and — once again — change everything in my life.
Next week I’m going to start working for 10up as a Frontend developer. I have a good idea of what I can expect, but I’m still scared as hell, as if it’s going to be my first day of school.
I think I’m going to feed the monkey and get some new notebooks and pen, just to get in the mood.
And then the new adventure will begin.
