Prejudiced Emotions..

“Hey.”

“Yes.”

“Can you help me go outside, Joe?”

“Yes, coming grandpa.”

The clock kept ticking and my distance from the birds remain same. “Hey.”

“Yes. “

“Please come here?”

“Yes. A minute. This video is damn funny!”

The Sun settled calmly with a promise to come again tomorrow.

The days are getting longer and longer with the approaching winter. The freckles of hand are getting covered in the furrows of fur. These eyes that could discern the uncertain are feeling cloudy behind the lenses. One thing that matches with this wealthy world is that postcard, hanging neatly in the corner of my rooted bed. The postcard, gifted by Joe, loudly proclaims ‘good vibes only’.

Today’s journey had been full of adventures. With waking up fresh, without the frozen back. I could take steps for the nature call on my own, I am gaining strength!

The birds were chirping in the veranda. I wanted to feed them, though it demanded, crossing two big carpets. I rolled out my stick and carefully took the steps to the light of the day.

The maid left after mopping the floor, leaving the floor damp. The smooth tiles of this renovated bungalow may prove too slippery for me. The children had gone to their offices and Joe was there to look after his mouthful old buddy.

The squeaking of cheap thrills soured my ear buds before I could call my young buddy.

Like a fat cat I crawled through the carpets with the lyrics on my lips and jigs in my kicks.

The long journey was taking a toll over my rusted body and gasped for a hand.

“Hey.” “Today, can I feed the birds, Joe?”

“Can’t you be a little patient, grandpa?”

The cheap thrills were muted and handy gadgets rested in the pockets in the hospital room.

“Did I prove to be a nasty old nana?”

I wonder. I wonder not.
