Thefts across the globe spike as thieves use disguised transmitting devices
Thieves Can Steal Your Car Effortlessly using Transmitting Device Technology.
Thefts across the globe spike as thieves use disguised transmitting devices to steel your newer model cars from outside your home while you’re asleep.
Many newer model and high-end cars use a keyless start system which allows you to start and unlock your car using a key fob. These gadgets extend the signal from the keyless fob located inside your home to unlock and start your car.
These devices can be hidden in a paper bag or even under your jacket. The thieves simply hold the device by your front door which in return allows them to unlock, start your car and simply drive off.

Keyless ignition systems use a fob key to start your car. These fob keys contain a chip that emits a signal to your cars computer. When the fob key is near the vicinity of your car and has been recognized by your cars computer the driver can start the engine with the push of a button. By pushing the button located on your dashboard, the computer will spin the starter until the engine fires. Some of these keyless ignition systems allow you to start the car’s engine remotely, so you can warm up or cool down the car on a cold or hot day, without having to go into the car to do it.

The only way to protect your fob key in a pinch from emitting a signal is to place it in a metal box or in some cases even a fridge. Metal will block the signal that is continuously emitted from your key fob.
