How to find nearby events ?

A few time ago I decided to leave country for a new one. Once installed in my new city I wanted to go out to meet new people , but knowing nothing about this new city I didn’t know where to go .

I knew that on the web you can find some sites that gives you the things happening in a particular city but none of these tools can be used everywhere, most of them are only for big cities .

So I decided to make my own.

Facebook is used all over the world and many people use it for its event management . Unfortunately I think the Facebook events search engine is not 
well designed, indeed it is very difficult using Facebook to know what are the events nearby and I thought it would be convenient to list Facebook’s events around a location .

That’s what conduced me to start developping Spouti.

Spouti is based on this idea.

Spouti is a very simple service , his first function is to recovers a geolocation to list the Facebook events around by date and distance .

Spouti also has a map for you to see what is happening anywhere in the world, this can be very convenient for people traveling a lot, in just one click you can have a preview of what people do in a particular geographic area.

It’s yet in Bêta version but if people like it others datasources and features will be added .
