WEEKLY MAG UPDATE 20/11/18–27/11/18

We are currently in the Swap phase which means Cryptopia, as our official partner, has stopped MAG wallets for maintenance and their tech team is going through our codebase while preparing exchange accounts for swap. The experienced delay is due to the infrastructure problems which were reported on @Cryptopia_NZ twitter account last week.

Coinexchange.io listed the 3rd of December as their swap day. Few days ago, one of our community members received the below answer from Cryptopia and our official Cryptopia account manager has also confirmed that they will do their best to provide further information later this week.

We want to thank our community for being so understanding in this situation and wish you all strength going through this re-birth with us!

Our team has finished updating our services and is currently working on the upcoming Litemint release, while finishing up on the updates and preparing the new MAG website. The post-swap homepage will have better documentation and updated graphics. Discussion has started on the new roadmap and whitepaper, we are planning to re-write them in very near future to reflect our current vision.

While waiting for the swap why not try your luck finding the perfect vanity address to add to your new wallet? We have setup an online tool just for the task:
https://magnetwork.io/vanity/

MAG Vanity Address Tool allows you to generate your vanity addresses in your browser, no command line, no download required. The tool can perform a full search through the dictionary (English) or based on a list of custom words. You can also select the word length and switch off the case sensitive search option.

Security Notes: The tool runs 100% on client-side, you can even disconnect your machine for increased safety. It uses the MIT licensed elliptic library (https://github.com/indutny/elliptic) for ECDSA curve primitives. Random data is generated through Crypto.getRandomValues which is seeded with system-level entropy source on most modern browsers.

To import your key to your wallet simply open the Debug Console (Menu Tools > Debug Console) and type the command: importprivkey my_private_key
my_private_key is the long string starting with 5 (e.g. 5mDtTCnDnS7TVV1BdVcpuAkskGH7cZhwdNTd5Z4HrW1eXwQwDV3)

During the past days, another question has been on the fingertips of Discord community members: “I missed the swap, did I lose all my coins?”. Let us make it clear that all UTXO (unspent transactions) with a timestamp before the 11th of November are safe and sound. We will have a late Swap option available as soon the automatic one is carried out on Cryptopia so no need for panic.

Also, Litemint web/mobile wallet will be released shortly after the Swap. Last week a more in depth overview about the service was published so make sure to read through it for more information — https://magnetwork.io/blog/more-on-magnet-and-litemint
