At Magpie, we’re offering you the chance to win a 5 day trip to San Francisco, California! Due to popular demand, we’ve decided to extend our #TravelThrowback photo contest to April 15th!

What is Magpie?

Why #TravelThrowback?

Our community is inspired by photos of amazing places, so we want to see your shots of idyllic beaches, towering temples, raucous night markets and misty mountains. Did you meet a new girlfriend along your journey? If she’s in the pic too, that’s a plus since we’re a travel network for women and love to show off female camaraderie. Participating in something you’re passionate about like dancing tango in Buenos Aires? We want to see your moves caught in the moment. We’ve received so many beautiful submissions from all over the world already and have heard from so many inspiring female travelers. Meet some of our weekly winners:

Week 1 winner: Tracy, USA

“I love the extremes: crazy bustling cities and desolate rural expanses. And I especially seek a place’s historical story through locales or people. That sums up the variety of activities I adore, whether it’s flitting from eclectic bars to legendary restaurants, or being the only soul as far as the eye can see and stopping at every historical marker that pops up out of nowhere.”

Week 2 winner: Dayana, Bulgaria

“I love routine. Persistent and stubborn that I am, I always stick to some daily rituals no matter where in the world I find myself. I start the morning with locally-brewed coffee and exercise, which comes in super handy while adjusting to a new time zone, as well as makes for a compact way of seeing a large area of a city quickly.”

Week 3 winner: Dana, Australia

“I am actually way better at meeting people while I am travelling than I am at home. It seems that no matter where I go or who I talk to I can find something in common and talk forever, honestly I just love meeting people and sharing stories! It’s quite strange actually majority of my closest friends are people I met while travelling!”

Week 4 winner: Namita, India

“Volunteering as a Yoga teacher in Mauritius — where I was teaching kids in orphanages and schools — is one of my fondest memories. They barely spoke English and I don’t speak French (beyond the smattering that some locals taught me), and yet there didn’t seem to be a ‘gap’ between us. They taught me that a language barrier is the smallest of roadblocks when it comes to humans connecting.”

What’s the Prize?

One grand prize winner will receive a fully covered trip to San Francisco, including $2,000 USD airfare and 5 days hosted through Magpie. The more friends you tag and the more photos you post, the more entries you’ll receive!
