Teamwork is something with which we can achieve anything if the team members trust each other. There are many famous people in the world who said about the goodness of a beautiful teamwork. According to Helen Keller, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much”. As Michael Jordan said, “Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships”.

Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. When some people with different societies work together with different intellectuals then a best thing formed called a “ Team”.

I learned from different teamwork experiences that coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress and working together is success. If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.

The same learning experience happened to me this week when in my one project I was given a task to complete in a team. The task that was given was to collect funds from different public places for Edhi Foundation.

Everyone knows about Edhi saab (the national hero and inspirational story for every pakistani or even for the world) but for those who don’t know him I would like to say that he is the man who only works for humanity. He did not care for himself but live for others in his entire life. He is actually a father of so many children that other did not accept. He once said that:

He always considered others and for their sake he built the Edhi foundation but after his death funds are gradually decreasing. So to continue the efforts of Edhi saab we were eager to collect funds for foundation. We tied up our belts and started our journey individually. First we collect funds from our neighbours, friends and family but the collection was not that high. We 50 to 60 members of a team decided to divide ourselves in groups and started the fund collection from different public areas of Lahore, Pakistan by following the words of a quote, “Together we can, together we achieve”. Three groups visited the Minar-e-Pakistan, Babar market and new food street Lahore respectively. These three areas are most rushy and busy. All the groups reach their areas on time. I am the one in the group that visited Minar-e-pakistan. We created different charts and with the box started our beautiful journey.

We spent 3 hours at that place and the best thing I had seen there was that every child want to participate in it as much as possible.

First, I have some fears that how can we be able to do that? What may be the response when we went to different people and ask them for funds? Will they give us positive response or not? All these questions are bubbling in my mind but then they fly away when we continue our work and maybe this is because of such a humble team. It is right that when a team is right then everything is right. They all are very supportive and the funds that we had collected was far more than I have collected individually. When I collected individually then everyone asked me that “If my money will go to right place?” but in a teamwork there is no such difficulty because everyone believes that a huge team is here out of their comfort zones just because for a noble cause instead of some who just say “no” but we did not disappoint from that things because we are prepared for that. We just say thank you and move on.

At that end, I want to say that I learned from this activity that the strength of a team is its individual member and strength of individual member makes a team. Whenever we work together with humbleness then no one could defeat us.
