This is very very wise advice. My husband’s financial mistake kicked my butt in gear to get serious about personal finance and the first thing we did was increase transparency between our accounts. We now have access information for each other’s financial accounts, even the ones we don’t share jointly. I haven’t had reason to check his accounts yet but just providing the information was a healthy step. I seem to be more motivated than he is to attain financial literacy, which still concerns me. But we’re working on it.
