Working From Home is Never Worth It

You know, I’m also suspicious of the various “ work perks” in the tech industry. For example, a lot of the companies I’ve looked at with free food and gym memberships seem to say “the company cares about you” but the health insurance is expensive, limited, or not offered at all by hacking together contracts. I have friends who are okay with this trade off but it seems pretty scammy. Then there are the extreme examples like the Facebook campus which just strikes me as a creepy simulacrum of day to day life, all housed in one convenient place where everything is free. It really freaks me out.
