Patch 7.6 & the Jungle Meta

Note: This review was published a little late, so one for 7.7 will be up soon as well.

Patch 7.6 Notes:

My video review:

Where are the Graves nerfs? Regardless of that everlasting question, Riot is setting up the jungle meta for changes. One cool new change from the previous patches is that Warlord’s Bloodlust will now work in the jungle (based off of charges you accumulate rather than what kind of enemy you attack). While the buffs in this patch are very good for marksmen (especially Caitlyn and other critical strike users such as Ashe, on-hit Varus, Jhin, and Jinx), junglers will finally benefit from the mastery as well. Magic damage junglers will also benefit heavily from the nerf to Red Brambleback. The camp loses a fair chunk of magic resistance, resulting in faster clears, which also means healthier clears. I expect Riot to look at the effects of the 7.6 changes on the jungle and to seek more changes in 7.7 and 7.8 as needed.

Champions Tier List

For the tier denominations, I will be combining each champion’s competitive and solo queue viability and strengths. For the junglers in A tier and above, I will list preferred keystones in brackets. In many cases, Thunderlord’s will be a viable, if not the best choice.

TL = Thunderlord’s Decree WL = Warlord’s Bloodlust, SR = Stormraider’s Surge, WS = Windspeaker’s Blessing, C = Courage of the Colossus, F = Fervor of Battle, SB = Stoneborn Pact

S Tier (OP):

Graves[TL/WL/SR], Ivern[WS], Rengar[TL/SR], Kha’Zix[TL/SR], Elise[TL], Lee Sin[TL], Zac[C]

A Tier (Solid picks]:

Warwick[F], Hecarim[C], Olaf[F/WL/SB], Gragas[C/TL/SB], Nunu[SB], Shaco[TL], Vi[C/TL], Nocturne[TL/F/WL]

B Tier (Like C tier, but slightly better):

Nidalee, Master Yi, Xin Zhao, Evelynn, Skarner, Kindred, Rek’Sai

C Tier (Most of these are outclassed or less viable):

Fiddlesticks, Shyvana, Jax, Jarvan IV, Rammus, Sejuani, Wukong

D Tier (Probably don’t play these right now):

Amumu, Quinn, Dr. Mundo, Volibear, Twitch, Diana, Trundle, Pantheon
