You made it! You’re at the finish line. There are just a few more things left to discuss.

If you haven’t read the previous two blogs in this series, please refer to them here: Part A (Setting the Stage) and Part B (Staying the Course).

Otherwise, let’s complete your fantastic journey!

1. Look Back to Move Forward

Congratulations on reaching the summit! Now is the time to pause. Before you rush off to your next adventure, take a moment to savor your hard-earned victory.

Reflect on the journey that got you here and don’t leave out any details. Ask yourself:

  • What did I learn about myself during this climb?
  • How have I grown as a person?
  • What skills have I acquired or honed?
  • What went well during this journey?
  • What can I do better next time?
  • What habits helped me succeed and should be continued?

Even if you didn’t quite reach your initial goal, chances are you made more progress than you realized.

If you do view the climb as a failure, don’t give up. Instead, use what you learned to turn that failure into a success.

Success often comes from experience, and experience often comes from failures. The journey is where the true value lies — the twists and turns, the people you met, and the person you have become.

So, celebrate your journey, not just the destination.

2. Kaizen

Kaizen is a Japanese philosophy that stands for “continuous improvement”.

With Kaizen, we try to improve every day, believing that if we leave things stagnant, they will degrade with time.

We live a proactive lifestyle seeking out new areas that we can explore and establish a goal driven mentality.

Kaizen is not to be confused with “hustle culture”, which often emphasizes the importance of working tirelessly and pushing oneself to the limit. Instead, kaizen encourages us to make small improvements every day that will lead to significant growth in the long term.

By embracing a kaizen mentality, we can live with intention and purpose.

We can seek out new skills to learn, cultures to explore, and people to meet.

We can start interesting projects and try new things. And every day, we can ask ourselves one simple question: “What can I do to make my life better and more fulfilling?”

Adopting a kaizen approach means opening ourselves up to a world of endless possibility and growth. It’s a mindset that empowers us to make meaningful progress in every aspect of our lives, and to create a life filled with purpose and joy.

So why not give it a try and see just how far you can go?

Part C Action Points

  • Celebrate your growth with your closest friends/family
  • Reflect on your journey, from start to finish, leaving no details behind
  • Adopt a Kaizen mindset
