Be Interested

I got a project work in which I’ve to focus on “Being Interested not Being Interested”. I got it as a challenge and read a chapter “Do This And You’ll Be Welcome Anywhere” from a book “How to Win Friends and Influence People” of Dale Carnegie.

This is a pretty much interesting idea of being interested. Mostly in normal phone calls, we just listen the word “I”. It means, in most of our conversation, we keep telling the people around us about our current situation, our achievements, goals, success, passion, needs and requirements.

It is human nature to being appreciated. Everyone in this world like to be loved, admired. Almost everybody likes to be favorite and center of attention. But it can’t be gain without some sort of struggle and being attached with others. As an author says, “If we merely try to impress people and get people interested in us, we’ll never have many true and sincere friends”.

I did this 24 hour activity of “BEING INTERESTED” and come to know most amazing facts. I talk to my friends, cousins, teachers and family members without any reason or any need. I asked them, “how are you?”, “what are you doing these days?”, “what’s your next goal?” etc. etc. In fact, this was really very awesome to know about others. I’ve clearly got the idea of “Be Interested not just Be Interesting”.

When I talk to one of my friend, I enjoyed listening that she is doing internship and collecting money for performing “UMRAH”. I was very surprised to come to know about my college teacher that, he almost completed PHD. One of my friends is going to Saudi Arabia for higher studies. My cousin with family is planning to go to Turkey to spend summer vacations. So, I learn that, “The greatest gift, you can give another is the purity of your attention”.

From this activity I’ve got the point of “LISTENING”. When you talk, you are only repeating what you already know. But if you listen, you may learn something new. It’s prove very fruitful for me of listening others. It is obvious that, listening is one of the most sincere form of respect which we given to others.

Everyone, itself is a great teacher. You can learn many things only by listening others.
