Guys, I am going to share you my experience to get secure PhD scholarship in any country with some necessary documents that need proper guidance. Yes I am talking about PhD motivation Letter, which is the first document, any supervisor and University interested to read. If it is properly written, and have some positive points in it. I am sure about that, grabbing a PhD scholarship opportunity is not a problem for you any more.

Let’s get started to highlight some basics tips to write your own motivational letter. The first and the most important thing is to consider while writing, is that, it is not a story. So be precise what are your writing and be honest.

The first paragraph is very simple, it is about your introduction, and your academic achievements. You can also put your research interests in the first paragraph to attract supervisor attentions.

In the second paragraph, explain little about your, Masters degree thesis. Describe little about your problem statements and how effectively you have achieved your goals during your studies. If your thesis research article is publicly available for readers, don’t miss that opportunity to link that paper via reference in your motivation letter. Such as:

My M.S. thesis title was “Comparative analysis of (Software Defined Networking)SDN viz Traditional Networks”. In [1] this work, efforts were made, to analyze the performance of SDN with typical network for the sake of a medium enterprise data center. Simulations are executed in Mininet emulator for parameters such as latency,
packet delivery ratio, packet switching and routing. Our results indicate that SDN has significant performance improvements over traditional networks. Furthermore, in order to overcome the bottleneck problem in SDN controller, we have used concept of cache controller in network.

Well, you must explain all your research experiences in the letter, if you have. If you have too many research articles, then try to quote only those research papers in which you are first author. Explain little bit about research methodologies, that how you have achieved your goals in each paper.

That’s all about your research history. Now its time to explain your other activities such as professionalism. If you are teacher, then explain which courses are your favorite ones. What are your responsibilities in a organization.

Finally, quote all your collaborations with national and international researchers. This is plus point in your motivation letter. Such as:

  1. M. Saqib Nawaz, Department of Information Science, School of Mathematical Sciences, Peking University, Beijing, China
  2. Kashif Saleem, Centre of Excellence in Information Assurance (CoEIA), King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
  3. Basit Shahzad, College of Computer and Information Sciences, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

This is all about how to write an effective PhD motivation Letter. Don’t forget to write at least one paragraph for your future research in the last paragraph of your motivation letter. I hope you have enjoyed the key tips.
