It depends on the circumstances, surely? I can be home to collect my teenage son from the bus stop, rather than arrange for him to be cared for for a couple of hours after school; that doesn’t detract from my work (it’s less time than a coffee break!) and saves time and money — for both of us.

The main reason I do work from home is so that I can do this!
