Future tenses II
Hello and welcome to the second part of the lesson. This one is going to teach us how and when to use “kommer att” in the future tense.
We already know how to use SKA. Now it is time to shed a little light on the KOMMER ATT thing.
What does KOMMER ATT actually represent? It could be translated as: GOING TO DO or simply as: WILL.
How do we even use kommer att in a sentence? The construction is pretty straightforward:
kommer att + infinitive form of the verb
kommer att göra
And here come some exemples:
Kommer det att regna imorgon?
Is it going to rain tomorrow?
Du kommer att vara jättetrött imorgon om du inte vilar idag.
You will be very tired tomorrow if you do not rest today.
We use kommer att in those cases when we do not have control over the situation (when talking about the weather for instance), it is used when we are predicting something or when we are expressing a prognosis of forthcoming situations.
Good job, we have finished! I hope that you enjoyed the lesson. There will be some nice pronunciation tips in the upcoming lesson. Keep up the good work and see you soon, bye bye.
