The story of Miss Stormé de Larverie who was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, by Diane Arbus.

Miss Stormé DeLarverie was a butch lesbian who’s scuffle with the police over LGBT Rights in New York City caused a media uproar. De Larverie became known as “the Rosa Parks of the gay community” soon after.

Following the Stonewall riot, DeLarverie gained recognition from all over the nation and became a household name.
