2015: What a Time to Be Alive!

>tfw 2015 was not too bad as you thought

Movies

  • Mad Max: Fury Road

I think that we can all agree that this is the best movie of the year. Everything here is great: acting, CGI, story (even if there is no much story actually, but who cares). George Miller just showed to us how blockbusters must be done. Damn, this was one of my best IMAX sessions and sessions in cinema so far.

  • Inside Out

If we forget about Mad Max, Inside Out could be my movie of the year. Touching story of little girl Riley, but it is exactly not her story it is story of her emotions. Everyone of them has it is own name: Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger and Disgust. Movie explaining why we feel sometimes happy or sad, angry and fear and telling how hard is work of “little friends” in our brains. Inside Out is not just good, it forever changes our minds.

There also was a plenty of other good movies that i could write about. But I’m lazy as heck. So, I just created a list.

  • Dope
  • Me and Earl and the Dying Girl
  • Beasts of No Nation
  • Star Wars: The Force Awakens (yes, yes, it is)
  • The Hateful Eight
  • The Revenant
  • The Walk
  • The Martian
  • Sicario (one of best films, yes, “films”)

TV

  • Fargo
  • The Knick
  • Homeland
  • Brooklyn 9–9
  • Game of Thrones
  • The Walking Dead
  • Mr. Robot
  • Silicon Valley

>silicon valley in a nutshell

Games

  • Undertale

One of my favorite video games of all time. Seriously. Why? Because Undertale makes you care about video game characters and then makes you feel bad for making the conscious decision to hurt them. There is no game today that shows this concept so clear and so simple, but maybe because no one could do as Toby made here. It is so well done that you can’t kill a simple NPC without a thought “Is this really necessary?”.

  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The second place after Undertale. The biggest story to be told of the year. The biggest world to explore of the year. The biggest progress of graphics and picture to be shown of the year. I guess that I can say this is one of the biggest and best games of the year. (I’m overusing the word “biggest”, hrrrrr)

  • Life is Strange

Huh? Why? Where else I can identify myself as a teenage shy girl who can control time and fell in love into another teenage girl who can change the destiny of whole town and who is also a punk and your best friend? That’s enough I think.

Other games that I liked too:

  • Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
  • Her Story
  • Rocket League
  • Bloodborne

Cartoons

  • Gravity Falls

JUST.
FUCK.
MY.
SHIT.
UP.

  • South Park
  • Over the Garden Wall

B e a u t i f u l. Maybe too late, but I’ll repeat. B e a u t i f u l.

  • BoJack Horseman
  • Star vs. the Forces of Evil

Music

  • Kendrick Lamar — To Pimp A Butterfly
  • Jamie xx — In Colour
  • Grimes — Art Angels
  • Tame Impala — Currents
  • Sufjan Stevens — Carrie & Lowell
  • Death Grips — Jenny Death
  • Vince Staples — Summertime ‘06
  • Talking Heads — Remain In Light
  • American Football — American Football

This was a great year full of good and bad memories, moments of happiness and sadness. The main thing that happened to me was the existential crisis which was destroying all my mind when I have reached to my puberty period. Thank god, it disappears too fast as it appeared and I found a ways to not make this happen again. I learned to draw pixel art, worked on some cool projects and met with new friends. So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Here comes the 2016.

Get hyped.
