I mean, the whole point of the protest is that it makes harder for other employees and for the owners to operate if the immigrants lose a day of work!
Those who participated knew they could be fired and I guess it’s OK that some owners did just that, but it gave me chills reading those bosses quoted. No, they didn’t FORGET about their coworkers and they didn’t ENJOY their days off and they were not even simply standing up for what they believed in. They were standing up to be SEEN as human beings.
I guess it’s a tough call if you’re a business owner, but what about as a human being? Social changes don’t come by making people comfortable.
