‘Make IT’ was the key theme explored this year at Association of Independent Schools New South Wales ICT Integration Conference. Teachers converged at Loreto Normanhurst School to share with each other new practices and knowledge in ICT to help their students collaborate, communicate and problem solve in the digital and technology world.
“The AISNSW conference 2014 brought together teachers sharing their innovative ICT experiences in areas such augmented reality, maker movement, edublogs and gamifying the museum. There was also 5 minute Teachmeet short presentations which were a really great way to grab bites sizes of what teachers were applying in their classrooms, said Jon Soong, CEO Makers Empire.

“Makers Empire gave many their first experience in 3D printing with our 3D design app for 3D printing on an iPad. Teachers and students were surprised to see how easily they could design and build on the spot without any prior experience”
Melanie Hughes of the AIS NSW said “This year’s conference was a great combination of teachers and their students presenting together. It was also an opportunity for many of the 40+ students involved to discuss with the educators who attended how technology influences their learning first-hand especially during the open room table sessions.”
