Maker’s Empire introducing design and 3D printing to primary schools

20 March 2014

Maker’s Empire will be conducting pilot classes of its 3D design tablet app with Primary Schools in Australia over the coming weeks. The schools participating in the pilot are North Adelaide Primary School, Westminster School and Good Shepherd Lutheran Primary School Angaston.

Primary School Teachers together with Primary school students will create designs on Maker’s Empire 3D design tablet app followed by printing in 3D. Teachers will get a chance to test out a Maker’s Empire supplied lesson plan for the pilot class.

Jon Soong, Maker’s Empire CEO, “We are very excited to be working with North Adelaide Primary School, Westminster School and Good Shepherd Lutheran Primary School. A very warm welcome to the pilot program. The pilot classes are a great way for us to introduce design and 3D printing to the next generation. It’s a very exciting time; the increasing prevalence of tablets as an educational tool and the rapid spread of 3D printing means kids these days have the opportunity to makes things previous generations could only dream about.”

Lap Leung, Maker’s Empire Director of Sales and Marketing “We could not be happier with the schools in our pilot program and their enthusiasm. Between them, there is a government school, a private school, a city school, a suburban school, a regional school, a small school and a large school. Fantastic! We can not wait to see what the primary students will design and create with our app and 3D printing!”
