Makers Empire was selected as a finalist at the IMS Global Learning Impact Awards Australasian Regional Finals in Melbourne. The Learning Impact Program recognises outstanding applications of technology that address the most significant challenges facing the global education and training industries.
13 finalists were invited to present for 5 minutes to a panel of judges from the education industry and to a live audience. Finalists were assessed by the judges on: access, affordability, quality, adoption, accountability, organisational learning, interoperability and innovation.
The top three Australian entries selected by the judges will then go onto the IMS GLC Learning Impact 2015 Awards in May in Atlanta USA. Additionally, the audience were also able to select their favourite finalist for the ‘People’s Choice’ Award.
Jon Soong, CEO Makers Empire, was on hand to present ‘Makers Empire’s Learning Program for design and 3D printing for primary schools’ that enables schools to experience the benefits of design and 3D printing to achieve learning outcomes.
After all the finalists presented, the judges were given time to deliberate and also collate the votes for the ‘People’s Choice’ Award.
