I see how smaller communities feel more natural. They don’t need to efficiantly distribute ressources and organize large numbers of very different people. However you can enslave your children pretty well, actually. The problem with smaller communities is that you can’t escape as well. However seeing a larger picture in a bigger society is very hard, which leads it’s citizens to be exploiting others without even realizing it.

Both systems are very flawed but untill we learn better ways, I guess we are stuck with them. We are social creatures after all even if you and me appreciate being alone maybe a bit more than someone else.
