BlockParty at DevCon3
BlockParty was first used at DevCon2 in Shanghai. It was a great experience to meet like minded people around the world and I would like to make it happen again but it will be more than that.
- Devcon3 global meetup organiser dinner
As I wrote on previous posts, I use BlockParty to prevent no shows on my local meetup. Users pay ETH 0.05 deposit and lose if they don’t turn up and the deposit will be distributed among people who did. I am currently piloting with Ethereum London meetup and hoping that other meetups can use my Dapp to help running their meetups smoothly.
Whether you are interested in using BlockParty at your event or not, I would still like to meet from other meetup organisers and exchange their experience and tips, so I created a dinner event on 1st November starting 6:30 pm.

There are already meetup organisers from Boston (USA), Michigan (USA), Oxford (UK), London (UK), France and others are still to join (when they make up their mind to put ETH 0.05 at stake).
I am definitely using this opportunity to promote BlockParty, but if you have your own ideas and products which may help other meetup organisers, please come and share with us (as long as you don’t promote your own ICO. If that’s what you want to do, there is another party just for that!).
2. Devcon3 social meetup calendar
My BlockParty event may not be relevant to everybody (also space is limited) but everybody must be keen on what other events are happening during DevCon3 in Cancun.
For those of you, I created a page that lists up all DevCon3 related social events called http://devcon3social.noblockno.party .
This is a google calendar page, so you should be easily able to import it to your google calendar.
(Warning: I cannot be responsible for the legitimacy of each event so use your own judgement to see if real event or not).
3. Host your own party with LETH!
This may or may not happen but I am currently working with LETH team so that people can create their own BlockParty event from LETH mobile wallet (limited feature during DevCon3).
If you are thinking about organising post conference social event (scuba diving, a day excursion, etc) with random people who meet at the conference for the first time, you may be worried if they actually turn up (especially if coordinating require paying some sort of up front deposit). BlockParty may be able to help you so let me know via twitter.
Last not least, don’t load your Metamask or any other wallet with full of ETH while traveling to DevCon3. Just load enough to be able to interact with BlockParty (less than 0.2 ETH should be enough).
