This may come as a shock to some of you, but autumn is my absolute favorite time of the year, For many reasons, too:
The earth cools down (mostly), the leaves change all kinds of pretty colors, and all those bitch-ass mosquitos buzz back to the pits they spawned from.
Now, that would be reason enough to celebrate, but I have a lot of personal reasons that I like to celebrate. My local fair comes to town, I get to say goodbye to summer (the most DREADFUL season, in my opinion), and I finally get to commit to my mid-year cleanse.
You should have a mid-year cleanse, ladies and gents and non-binos!
So, I always had a particularly fun time in the autumn as a kid due to this being when the new school year would start (I eventually grew to hate school, but at the time I was just glad to be away from my abusive home)
To me, the new school year always felt like my New Year’s. I’ve always been a bit of a butt-face at New Year’s Resolutions, but I really liked the idea of there being a time out of the year dedicated to feeling fresh and “cleansing” yourself (hence, the mid-year cleanse, yadig?)
Autumn is a time, roughly halfway through the year (not really, but kinda sorta maybe, yeah?) where the entire earth seems to slow down. Kids are going back to school, people stop travelling so much for vacation.
