What is Artificial Intelligence?

A branch of Computer Science that is concerned with building systems that think and act like humans rationally.

Types of Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Weak Intelligence

Known as weak AI. Involves applying AI only to specific tasks, Specializes in one area, and solves one problem.

EX: Alexa — operates within a limited pre-defined range of functions, including the Google search engine, Self Driving cars, Alpha GO

Artificial General Intelligence

Known as strong AI. Involves machines that possess the ability to perform any intellectual task that a human being can. Refers to a computer that is as smart as a human across the board

Artificial Super Intelligence

An intellect that is much smarter than the best human brains in practically every field.In Science fiction movies

Popular AI Uses

Google Predictive Search engine — When users start typing a search term and google makes recommendations for users to choose from, That is the use of AI. The Predictive searches are based on data that google collects about users. Such as browser history, location, and personal details. By using AI google tries to guess what you might be trying to find. behind this, there is a lot of NLP, ML & DL involved.

JPMorgan Chase’s Contract Intelligence Platform ( COiN ) — Uses AI, ML & Image recognition software to analyze legal documents.

IBM Watson — In 2016 IBM Watson was able to cross-reference 20 million oncology records and correctly diagnose rare leukemia.

Google AI Eye Doctor — Able to examine retina scans and identify a condition called diabetic retinopathy.

Facebook — Facebook uses ML & DL to detect facial features and tag friends option.

Twitter — Twitter is using AI to identify hate speeches and terroristic language in tweets.

Tesla — Self-Driving Cars

Netflix — Movie recommendation

Gmail — Gmail uses AI to identify Spam mail.
