I think that there is as lot of truth in here and I love the way you write, so thanks for writing it.

A good friend of mine once told me that:

“while the Right looks for converts the Left is looking for traitors”

and while I have __all__ the privilege (and I know it and I do what I can to check it and mitigate it, but I can’t shed it because it’s inherent) I do want a World with real social justice. I want a World with no sexism, no trans or homo phobia, no racism and as soon as possible no unfettered markets and no capitalism. I believe with all my heart that our only route to survival as a race is to strive for all of these things, but I am often unwelcome in the discourse and amongst the Left (radical or otherwise) because I am a white, cis male, hetero-appearing, “middle-class” person.

I am not going to stop trying to change things for the better, and I am not going to stop being involved in the debate, but I am going to feel a little bit more confident that I have a place in this overall movement now, and I love your final take on all of this, that our revolution has to be able to welcome anyone who really wants change that helps everyone, and that it needs to work for our culture and our families and our questions and our mistakes as much as anything else.

Here’s to dancing, in amongst the battles :-)
