Consistency is Key

I don’t believe it’s all about talent. I believe it’s all about consistency. If you have the humility to be a student and realize that you may be wrong in some cases, and you have the patience to listen to the person who has done it before you and the patience to grow and progress, then consistency is your biggest asset of all time! Let me explain why.

Most of us are told at a very young age, which type of person we should be. Whether that’s from our parents, from our teachers, from our coaches, friends, co-workers, etc. you get the point. As we get older, however, we hear less and less of someone asking us what we would like to be.

Why is this?

I believe it’s because people aren’t as consistent as they should be!

Let me explain…

Have you ever started something that without a doubt you believed you had to do this. Then you do it and commit but a few weeks later or a couple months down the road we start to taper off of that high energy we had in the beginning and it starts to get tough, because in order to be great at anything you must have challenge and friction in the equation. And then before you know it you’re not participating in that activity, club, team, etc. because it’s something you truly don’t enjoy when the times get tough.

This is completely normal and let me tell you how this ties in with consistency.

When we aren’t consistent with something, we won’t succeed at it. PERIOD. There has been zero success stories and zero legacies that have been built off of inconsistency. Consistency is a must have in the equation of anything successful.

So how does this tie in to people telling you what you should be instead of asking you what you want to be…?

People don’t believe you anymore. People see your track record, not your vision. If you want to prove to someone that you are great at something, whether your talented or not, you must be consistent with whatever it is that you want to do!

Don’t worry about how much talent you have now. Practice and training can always create a skill, but a mindset shift is needed in order for you to stay consistent through the tough times. Through the grind. Through the bottom of the pile and you need to be consistent if you ever want to make it to the top!

If you have the humility to be a student and the patience to listen to a real expert who’s done it before you and the patience to grow and progress and get better… Consistency is your biggest asset!

The reason I wrote this post today was because today is my first day filming my new video blog (not the biggest fan of calling it a vlog haha). I want to share my journey in hopes it will inspire one of you by showing you what consistency can actually do if you execute it with a vengeance! Like you just lost your last game of the season right before the championship and you have no other focus besides winning it all the next year! You need to have the focus on being consistent! Executing on consistency!

If you want to follow my journey and watch some of my video blogs, I will be posting them here! This is my YouTube channel link and it’s where my newest video blogs will be uploaded to first. My other video blog is on Snapchat if you haven’t heard or seen on my site already. haha

My YouTube blog (The Coach Malek Show) will be a little more professional (still not too professional) including my daily routine as a entrepreneur/Fitness Coach and will include some workouts of mine! My Snapchat blog (Personal Trainer in Your Pocket) will be my daily life in a nutshell which might get a little explicit. This is the disclaimer! Sorry Mom… haha

Anyway… Back to consistency. Do what you feel is right in your life! Do what you want to do instead of what your told to do. Find your passion and strive to get better everyday until that’s the only thing you’re doing and your happy doing it! But above all, stay consistent. It’s what really matters!

Hope this helped you realize that you can do whatever it is you set your mind to. Seriously! Don’t worry about where you’re at right now, just be excited for where you can be in 6 months, 1 year, 10 years…

Always committed to your goals,

Malek Banoun
