Still with me in the Bloom Series, today I’ll share my strategy on how to be direct, effective, efficient, and result-oriented. I believe life is pragmatic by nature; its abstract elements stem from our emotional biases. The more you understand this, the easier it becomes to spot solutions to every problem, almost as if they unfold before your eyes.

Here we go,

Step 1: Build Emotional Awareness

The first step to being direct is to build awareness of your emotions. When you recognize that you’re being emotional, you can redirect yourself to a more neutral state. This clear-minded state enhances your thinking process, leading to better decision-making.

Step 2: Engage in Structural Thinking

Once free from bias, you can start a structured thinking process. This step is often overlooked due to clouded minds. Consider the pros and cons of each decision. For serious situations, write them down; for everyday problems, practice mentally. Remember, there is no perfect situation — every benefit comes with its drawbacks. So, stay calm and think through the possible consequences of your decisions.

Step 3: Commit to Your Decisions

The hard part isn’t making the decision; it’s living with it. Sticking to the plan you made requires mental strength and psychological resilience. Thinking requires logic and intelligence, but executing the plan demands action, courage, and the ability to handle real consequences. This phase requires not just thinking ability but also mental fortitude to follow through.

Step 4: Train Your Mental and Psychological Strength

To be effective and efficient, train your mental and psychological resilience. Start with small wins — complete small tasks with no significant consequences. By consistently sticking to these habits, you build mental muscle memory. When the big moments come, your mind and psychology will operate as they should. Remember, small wins may seem insignificant now, but they add up over time.

Step 5: Understand People’s Behavior

Understanding how people behave in certain conditions is a vital skill. It’s like adding a bigger gear to your race car, enhancing your thinking and decision-making process. Learn to observe, not just see. It’s a systematic, structured framework. It can be hard and might make you overthink or seem judgmental and insensitive, but learning through doing helps you refine this skill.

Step 6: Focus on Being Result-Oriented

Being direct also means being focused on results. It’s not just about the process but about achieving the desired outcome efficiently. Set clear goals and objectives for every task or project, and measure your progress against these benchmarks.

how to be result-oriented:

  1. Set Clear Goals: Define what success looks like for each task or project.
  2. Prioritize Tasks: Focus on activities that have the most significant impact on your goals.
  3. Monitor Progress: Regularly check in on your progress and make adjustments as necessary.
  4. Be Flexible: Be willing to adapt your approach if you encounter obstacles or if better opportunities arise.
  5. Celebrate Successes: Recognize and celebrate your achievements, no matter how small, to stay motivated.

Some might think it’s not a big deal to adopt these practices because many live just fine without them. But why settle for ‘enough’ when you can strive for more?

Its time to upgrade your game, and bloom.
