In today’s fast-paced and often stressful world, taking care of our mental well-being is of utmost importance.

Mental health encompasses our emotional, psychological, and social well-being, affecting how we think, feel, and interact with others.

It plays a significant role in determining how we handle stress, make choices, and cope with adversity.

SAPIEN LABS has published a report on March 1, 2023 titled as The Mental State Of The World In 2022. In this regard data was collected from 500,000 people across 64 countries.

Here are some of the highlights:

  1. According to the results, a third of this population is suffering from mental health challenges. Report has also revealed that young adults age 18–24, compared to their grandparents’ generation, were five times more likely to have mental health challenges.
  2. Although younger adults have seen increasing material support by their parents as compared to the previous generations; however, a sheer decline has been reported by the adults in terms of love and emotional warmth during childhood owing to increasing family instability and conflict.
  3. Family relationships are increasingly facing degradation. As compared to their parents’ generation, adults are three times more likely to have poor family relationships.
  4. Adults are two times more likely to lack those friends who will help them in times of need.
  5. According to the report, people with poor family relationships and less close friends are ten-times more likely to face mental health challenges.
  6. According to a report of World Health Organization, every year, more than 700,000 people die due to suicide whereas the number of people who attempt it is much higher.
