Recap of the Grand Opening For SOEA Gallery

With a couple of hours until opening, gallery owner Joseph Laughlin-Warren and artist Peter Gourniak are still setting up art throughout the space and putting the finishing touches on everything else. The art fills all the walls in the gallery, varying from photography prints, canvas paintings, chest pieces, and even a door-like piece. Watching this setup play out, I am a bit nervous about this starting on time, but the guys got everything in order right on time.

It’s opening time and the band January Noon is setting up to play live music for the night. Everyone who’s in attendance is dressed to impressed. Suits, dresses, and high energy are all around the gallery. The people who showed early took tours of the gallery and indulged in the brand’s cup which was a nice touch to the aesthetic. The team of Source of Everything Art, (SOEA) a group of creative individuals welcomed the guest, introduced themselves, and made sure everyone in attendance was having the time of their lives.

One of the biggest hits inside the gallery, aside from the art, was the pink flower wall. People took videos and pictures throughout the night in front of it. There were special filters specifically made for the event so people can share them on social media. Professional photographers Devon Inman and Kemuel Arce were in attendance as well to take pictures of the night.

While people are mingling amongst themselves, observing the art, drinking wine, and eating finger foods, January Noon was providing live music for the audience to enjoy. They played a few of their original songs and a few covers of songs we all know and love. During a break, Joseph Laughlin-Warren took over the mic to thank everyone for coming, explain in depth the message and meaning behind the gallery and the brand, and just give a heads up for what’s to come for in the future.

People took a great liking for Peter Gourniak’s art. While maneuvering through the room, I overheard lots of compliments of the diversity in his paintings and the details within each painting. A lot of people took a liking to his photography prints as well. The aluminum canvas was a well-played design feature to add to his amazing photos of the reconstruction of Allentown. Everyone on the SOEA team was thankful for Peter choosing their gallery for its grand opening.

Another highlight of the night was the appearance of Ed Pawlowski, the mayor of Allentown. As a friend of Peter, he came into the gallery and was a part of the experience that was the grand opening. He spoke with people in attendance and took pictures to show support. Anytime you have the mayor showing up; you have a great thing going for yourself.
