“Bold Career Change at 47: From Liver Transplant Anaesthetist to Wellness Blogger
“I remember the day as if it were yesterday — not because I faced a health crisis, but because I reached a turning point. After over 17 years in the operating theatre, standing beside patients in their most vulnerable moments, I felt a quiet voice inside asking — what’s next? That voice didn’t signal burnout; it called for reinvention.”
I had seen courage, fear, resilience — and the extraordinary power of the human body to heal.
After decades in the medical field, particularly in liver transplant anaesthesia, I began to feel a quiet pull toward something new. While I deeply valued the impact I made in patients’ lives, there was a growing curiosity — could I channel my expertise in a different way? Could I build something of my own?
I started to wonder — what if the answer to a healthier life wasn’t just in the operating theatre, but in the everyday choices we make? The food we eat, the way we move, the thoughts we think.
That curiosity turned into passion. I began to explore holistic health, not just for my patients, but for myself. I embraced mindful eating, gentle movement, deep rest, and stress release — and I saw firsthand how these changes can transform not just the body, but the spirit.
The idea of creating something from scratch — sharing my knowledge through blogging, and exploring the digital landscape — lit a fire in me. It wasn’t an easy decision, but it felt necessary. I chose to take a sabbatical from my clinical role, giving this new venture my full attention.
With savings to sustain me and a passion for purposeful living guiding me, I took the leap into the world of blogging, business building, and digital wellness advocacy.
Today, I’ve stepped out of the OR and into a new role: a guide, a writer, and a wellness advocate. I share what I’ve learned not just from textbooks or anaesthesia & Critical Care — but from witnessing hundreds of human stories of healing and resilience.
My mission now is to help others prevent illness, reclaim vitality, and live with intention. Because true wellness isn’t just about surviving — it’s about thriving.
