The Voice

As you say

In the stillness of our minds

It arises from within us

To help and heal us

It is a quite voice

Gentle and soft

Like a small tug or tap

Sometimes it is insistent and loud

And in an instance it’s gone

Lost

Hear it, you’ll gain

Don’t, you’ll miss out

The voice assures

When none other can

It follows your darkness

To show you your light

It witnesses your sorrows

And reminds you to create your joy

That voice is reasonable

And reassuring

It is also a response

To one of life’s many moments

That find you in a spot

It calms your heart

Soothes your tempers

It shows you better ways

Guides you when you stray

Most times that voice

Comes from a place deep within

But sometimes it also comes from out

In the form of a friend or an angel

I know

I heard it once, heeded it too.

And followed it forever since. (03–12–17@5.51pm)
