My Mind is a Kingdom

"My mind to me a kingdom is; such present joys therein I find, that it excels all other bliss that earth affords or grows by kind." - Edward Dyer

I put these splendid words in my journal because of what they speak to me. My mind is a kingdom, a magical place where I may create whatever is pleasing to me. In my mind, I can change the outcomes of situations, transport myself to an entirely different place, or simply daydream about life's many pleasures. I thank God that we are capable of using our minds and imaginations in manners such as these. How tasteless life would be if we could not see it through our minds! I often get excited to go on long car rides because I have an excuse to sit, look at the sky, and think. It gives me great joy in imagining and creating worlds in my head. I am also quite convinced that God has the most spectacular imagination of all! Take a look at a serene sunset or the brilliant colors of a rainbow, and tell me God does not have an imagination! He is the true artist. My friends, never get so focused on growing up that you leave your imagination behind. It will be a comfort to you for the rest of your life, if you let it. :)
