This is Not My Republican Party
Steve Skeldon

If anyone thinks this is a problem Republicans have only had for the past decade, let’s brush up on the Southern Strategy. You aren’t crumbling because of “frustrated anti-establishment voters.” You’re crumbling because your party convinces ignorant people that the cause of all their ills lie at the feet of brown people and other “others.” Republicans promise that as long as wealthy white men are kept in power, bigots and their way of life will be protected. And all your voters are finally realizing they’re being lied to as their world steadily changes around them. They keep looking for the candidate they were promised. Trump is now that man. Preying on their ignorance, their fear, their blindness. He’s the candidate they’ve been promised. A promise made by your party for decades.
