I didn’t have the most harrowing childhood — there are plenty who had it worse. But when I speak to my friends I don’t think they really understand me, because I am a very different person to who I was growing up. During those years I had a siege mentality, metaphorically and sometimes literally. This is the story of the worst years of my childhood.
