I love to being a Deaf Person because it is my primary language. It is important to communicate and discovered my identity as Deaf person. When I entered to Deaf world when I went to Deaf School in California School for the Deaf, Riverside. It was overwhelming to see so many people using a sign language, it was my first witness because in my whole life that I went to regular school with other kids that district school provided me a interpreter for communicate with teachers while lecture, tutor, and questions. But how did I able to socialize with others? So, they don’t know signs but does willing to learn that way they can comment with me daily during lunch time and hangout at the weekend. But at same time I felt that I left out when they talked other without signs when I stand and watch other like… I am idiot and don’t know what they are talking about. I was so lonely and quiet.

When I moved to Deaf school, it is whole different and changed my life because I totally see that I don’t feel lonely anymore and it does fit me because it is my primary language for communication and access for my needs for education, sports, clubs, and event. I had a lot of friends who understand me that where I came from and finally to discovered for who I am and my identity.

Remember a Deaf person is normal like others can do anything but we can’t hear. So, it is not all of them. Some Deaf people can read lips, or speaking.

Did you know that there is over 8 million people in the world that is Deaf, Hard of hearing or loss hearing at early or late age…
