Party Snacks for the weight conscious

It’s good times whenever an impromptu party pops up at your place, but it’s not as good if you have nothing to serve your guests! These last-minute party snacks recipes will keep everyone happy, including the weight conscious ones.

1. Peri Peri Almonds (Party Snack)

Kick it up a notch with a handful of spicy Peri-peri or Cajun-seasoned almonds.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup whole natural almonds

2 tsp olive oil

1 tsp finely grated lemon zest

1 tsp peri-peri seasoning or Cajun seasoning

Preparation:

Place the almonds into a frying pan with the olive oil and heat gently for 1–2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the lemon zest and peri-peri seasoning or Cajun seasoning and cook for another 20–30 seconds, stirring. Remove from the heat and cool.

2. Seasame Honeyed Almonds (Party Snack)

Indulge in the sweet decadence of whole almonds glazed with honey and sesame seeds — no guilt here!

Ingredients:

1/2 cup whole natural almonds

1 tbsp honey

10g sesame seeds

Preparation:

Place the almonds into a non-stick frying pan with the honey. Stir to mix, then heat gently for 1–2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sticky. Add the sesame seeds and stir to coat. Remove from the heat and cool.

3. Almond, Sweet Potato And Pomegranate Chaat, White Pea Ragda (Party Snack)

INGREDIENTS:

Almonds (peeled) — 15 g

Boiled sweet potato dices — 30 g

Pomegranate pearls — 5 g

White pea — 20 g

Onions chopped — 5 g

Tomatoes chopped and deseeded — 5 g

Chaat masala — 2 g

Green chillies — 1 g

Lemon juice — 3 ml

Coriander, fresh — 1 g

Mint chutney — 10 ml

Saunth chutney — 15 ml

Red chilli powder — 1 g

PREPARATION:

Boil white pea till cooked properly, for making white pea ragda. Mix chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, green chillies, fresh coriander, lemon juice, redchilli powder and chaat masala. Adjust the seasoning.

In a separate bowl, take almonds, pomegranate pearls and sweet potato. Drizzle with saunth chutney, lemon juice, chaat masala and chopped coriander. Toss it lightly.

Then, on a serving plate, mould the white pea ragda and arrange the almond chaat on top of it. Serve garnished with a coriander sprig.
