Week 4

According to Hawthorne’s studies, there are 4 major phasese for people to look better. There are illumination experience, relat assemblu test room experience, mass interviewing program me, and bank writing observation room experience.

What was interesting to learn this week was Hawthorne effect. It is an idea of attention leading to a better work. The attention can be from your peer, employer, parents, and so on. I myself tend to get nervous when I have attention from other people, but I do want to do better and achieve when somebody is counting on me.

We also learned that the world we live today is obsess with collecting everything, such as measuring your output, everything you do is timed and measuring (how fast you type, how long you are on the phone, etc.), and this is called “big data.”

Maslow’s hierarchy of needs

Level 1: Physiological — food, water, and sleep

Level 2: Safety — shelter, income

Level 3: Love/belonging — friendship, family

Level 4: Esteem — how you feel about yourself

Level 5: Self-actualization — being who you really are

Now a days, most of us can not live without our phones. Therefore, for some people Wi-Fi, battery, and internet are the first priority than the level 1 physiological part.
