They do seem to be helping in some countries around the world, such as Singapore, Canada and the Netherlands, but the focus of this story was on India, where there aren’t any yet.
Also, these make sense on large, four- or six-lane highways. Here, most tend to be just two-lanes. Those seem to be the most problematic, being unlit and very twisty-turny, especially in the Eastern and Western Ghats.
